Doctor's Report
Last January I went in for a reasonably routine physical, and the doc ran a few blood tests. She nearly hit the roof when my cholesterol checked in at over 350. Everything else was fine, though I felt a little frustrated with the bicycle tire that was beginning to form around my middle. So she put me on a cheap generic statin, and I was pretty faithful about taking it before hitting the sack. When I started working at BOA and no longer consumed two hours a day commuting to Dover, I began to play handball three times a week with my friend Davis at the local Y. Then the addition project began to take shape and I needed to do a lot of outdoor work around the house, much of which was digging dirt and moving it. Finally, I happened to find out about the Shangri-La diet, which I've been following, and I've tended to eat less junk food, too (whether because of the diet or not is still an open question to me). So Monday was my follow-up appointment. I lost 15 pounds, and the cholesterol was at 191. My doc was ecstatic. She said I had permission to gloat. I want to lose a few more inches, and stay that way.
So I have a question for all my multitude of readers out there: How have you succeeded at losing weight?
