This will be a short post, but I owe it to you. A couple posts back I mentioned something or someone called a stone slinger, and last week it arrived, did its job, and moved on. And I have photos to prove it.
Here's the truck backed up to the construction site. The bottom of the bed has a conveyor that drops gravel out the back.
The second pic is the business end of the truck. The gravel drops onto another conveyor that the operator can aim with a wireless remote.
And the gravel comes off this second conveyor fast enough to fly clear to the back of the construction site. For more photos (total collection is just over 200 photos) go visit
my Picasa album. There's a shot of the guy talking on his cell while operating the remote, and one of the side of the truck with its Stone Slinger label. The thumbnail looks like it's Stoneslinger. Sounds like a the name of a folk singer in a fantasy novel.

I was shocked to read on the Mac-Pac today that you are actually attempting to lure readers away from my MOTORCYCLE - ORIENTED blog to this "Poor Rogers Whole Earth Catalogue."
Shocked, but not totally disappointed. And after I have done so much to promote this homespun, cheesecloth editorial. Screw you, Rogers.
