Mention of mushrooms and motorcycles

Here it's been more than a week since I last posted, and I've had a whole series of motorcycle posts in the cooker, but no time to write:
  • I'm about cross-eyed from job hunting, contacting the likes of the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Everglades Foundation, SunPower, and a pile of other places, all doing projects that take advantage of some of that green money out there. Best lead so far is with Time Warner, though. Not counting all the normal tech writing postings from headhunters.
  • I spent all last weekend working on the homestead instead of riding, (though I did take the bike to the church's men's breakfast Saturday morning). We now have two more stretches of fence and three raised beds, with vegetables. That's the new compost bin in the background of the picture.
  • In a related note, Val and I are "parents." We caught a couple frogs mating in a puddle, and now we have hundreds of tadpoles wriggling around.
  • I suppose you could count taking care of ten pullets, too.  They're already noticeably bigger than this photo shows.
  • The contractor is supposed to bring the low-E window glass for the garage addition tomorrow. He had promised it early last week, then today, now tomorrow. We'll see.
  • Not to mention time learning about selling articles, and writing some. Still have a way to go on that, but it might lead to some income.
  • I saw my first mushrooms of the season! A thing down in the goat pasture next to a log by the firepit, and a LBM by the back door.  LBM is mycologist slang for "little brown mushroom."
  • And to whet your appetite, here's what I'll be writing about soon: How to do a motorcycle ride called a trifecta. Three consecutive days of 1500 miles each.

Dear Rogers:
Your good friend, Jack, wants to know if they make a Roomba that will fit his motorcycle seat.
Please wish Val a happy birthday for me.

Dear Rogers:

Back to basics I see. Ten pullets, eh? Are they of a specific breed? I always favored Rhode Island Reds. I've always had a yen for fresh chicken, on the hoof, so to speak. I've had it only once or twice.

The mushrooms sounded interesting too. Are they wild, or did you cultivate them?

Fondest regards,
Jack
