Not much going on in my life

I must have four readers now—they keep begging me for more! Of this stuff! Pretty soon I'm going to have to start making things up so I'll have something to write. I do appreciate my friend Jack Riepe's efforts to light a fire under me. His reply to my (lack of) posts today was so uncharacteristically subtle, that at first I thought it was an April Fools joke. To give you an idea of how much of nothing is happening around here:
  1. No work is being done on the addition, in spite of my writing a nasty email to Mario, the GC. No response from his assistant, either, and Nick is usually pretty good. (nb: I called Nick while I was writing this and he replied.)
  2. My second energy audit today didn't happen. Apparently the hubby scheduled it, then didn't tell his wife, and didn't show up himself at the appointed time.
  3. I've gotten no paychecks yet, though that might change Friday.
  4. Haven't been able to get any yard work done, and we have plans to cut up some fallen trees, plant a garden out by the far shed, clean up construction mess, sell the camper (32 ft, $1500, looks nice inside. Be a perfect hunting lodge), and root out some more Multiflora rose.
  5. Val and I are both too tired to, um, yeah, we're too tired.
I should mention a little adventure yesterday, though. Martin (the best neighbor in the world) and I took HIS truck up to Coatesville, where Val's mom's house is, and hauled home a bunch of woodworking tools that Val inherited. Under a big tarp in our yard (because, ahem, the addition isn't done) are two (count 'em) ShopSmiths, more accessories than you can shake an unfinished piece of lumber at, a table saw, a wheeled workbench, three electric motors, a lathe, a scroll saw, and piles of supplies. Pretty nice. Except today it's raining. Hope that tarp does the job. But, hey, that's only one thing, and I'm not making this up.

Hope you get a paycheck soon. They should have given you some expense $$ up front for gas etc. I tried to make woodworking my hobby but it just didn't fit in with photography. Too much dust everywhere. I just have simple power tools that are powered by 19.2 V battery packs. They work well enough for me. During the winter we had a lot of storms and ice which damaged our trees. They were dangling so low as to be a problem with some power lines, so I started cutting them down with my newly acquired reciprocating saw (battery powered). I was considering the more powerful 120v electrical one but decided that I did not wish to have a cord wrapped around everything. I have 3 - 19.2 V battery packs. As soon as they "run" out I have an excuse to immediately "stop" whatever I am doing, and go for a ride while they are charging.

I chuckle to myself everytime I say: "I need to charge the batteries now. See you later, I'm going for a ride"

Thinking to myself: "I wonder what happened to Jack. He hasn't checked in yet. Must have slept in"

Dear Rogers:

I am sending RIDERS to read your tripe. At what point do you think some text might involve a motorcycle. Do what I do... Lie.

Fondest regards,
Jack
