She says to tell you that it was still dark out and she had just rolled out of bed, so it's not her best picture. Disclaimer: I actually did the necessary shoveling, but she insisted on making a larger area for the dogs to pee in. She was under the illusion that max wouldn't get his belly all covered with snow.
So anyway, all this nice snow was too tempting to resist. I decided to walk out to the local diner (a mile down the road) to have breakfast. On the way I encountered two cars stuck in the snow. Nobody had any mittens or gloves, or boots, or warm jackets. The guy in the back parking lot was even from Canada! And he was trying to shovel out with a window scraper. I also encountered a guy with a snow plow out plowing things, and he must have been from Florida, judging from the way he drove it. Long story short, they both got out, and I got a lot of exercise.
I had just finished my omelet when who should come traipsing into the diner, all bundled up, rosy cheeked and sunshiny? My dear sweet wife! She had decided it would be fun to follow me out. Fortunately, someone on another road in the neighborhood (our road is unplowed and knee-deep clear out to the toll booth entrance) were driving by and gave her a lift most of the way. Yes, they had plowed out to the toll booth and stopped. One more pic, taken about dawn:
